The small moments often become the ones we remember most.

Not the milestones we plan for.

Not the perfectly posed photographs.

But the way a baby looks at her parents while learning something new. The familiar comfort of a favourite room. The quiet rhythm of an ordinary morning spent together.

When I arrived at this family's home in Duncan, there wasn't a schedule to follow or a list of poses to work through. Instead, we simply documented life as it was.

At six months old, the world is changing quickly.

Every week brings something new.

New expressions.

New discoveries.

New ways of interacting with the people they love most.

One of the things I love about in-home sessions is that they preserve more than faces.

They preserve a season of life.

The home.

The light.

The routines.

The places that will one day be remembered differently.

Why I love in-home family sessions

In-home sessions allow families to relax into their own rhythm: There's no rush, no unfamiliar location. No pressure to perform.

Just space to be together. And that's often where the most meaningful photographs are found.
